Hiroshima

Today was the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor bombing. It passed without mention here. Actually, there is nothing to betray that our countries were such violent enemies, unless you go out of your way to visit a museum or a few preserved sites. Last week, we made the trip to Hiroshima and saw this building they call the Atomic Bomb Dome. In the center of the bustling modern city is a small park called Peace Park and this building, which was near the epicenter of the blast. We felt a little awkward walking around it, but there is no perceptible animosity now.

A few other sites: Hiroshima Castle and a view from the castle.
